Kamikaze drone strike hits oil refinery in Ufa, 1,350 km from the front

An unprecedented attack hit the Ufa oil refinery in Russia early this morning, more than 1,350 kilometers from the battlefront. This is the first time that this facility has been hit by long-range kamikaze drones, which is a milestone in the ongoing war.

Bashneft, the affected complex, is one of the largest refineries in the country and consists of three main facilities:

Bashneft-UNPZ, Bashneft-Novoil and Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim, with a total refining capacity of 23.5 million tons of oil per year.

According to preliminary reports, the explosions caused fires in several sections of the refinery.

Emergency teams have been deployed to the area, although there is still no official information on the extent of the damage or possible casualties.

This attack represents a severe blow to Russia's energy infrastructure and a clear sign of the increased range of drones used in the conflict.

Russian authorities are expected to issue a statement in the coming hours with more details on the impact and possible retaliation.
