Israel eliminates new Iranian chief of staff in precision strike
Israel confirms the elimination of Major General Ali Shadmani, chief of the Iranian General Staff, in a precision strike. The operation marks a direct escalation against Iran's military leadership.

In a surgical operation that shakes the Iranian military establishment, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the elimination of Major General Ali Shadmani, recently appointed Chief of Staff of the Iranian General Staff.
The attack was carried out early Monday morning against an underground bunker on the outskirts of Tehran, where, according to Israeli intelligence, senior military commanders were meeting to plan new offensives against Israel.
Official Confirmation from Jerusalem
IDF spokesman General Daniel Hagari asserted that the attack was “precise, legal, and necessary for the defense of Israel” and that Shadmani was directly responsible for “offensive actions against Israeli civilians.”
“We do not seek war, but we will not allow military leaders who plot our destruction to operate with impunity,” Hagari stated.
Iranian Reaction: “A Clear Assassination”
From Tehran, the regime condemned the attack as an “act of direct war and a targeted assassination.” Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei promised a "devastating and equivalent response" in the coming hours and declared three days of national mourning.
Iranian state media have already begun broadcasting continuously with calls for national resistance and messages of unity against "Zionist aggression."
Ali Shadmani's Profile
Ali Shadmani was considered a key strategist within the Iranian military apparatus. His promotion to Chief of Staff was interpreted as a hardening of the regime's stance toward Israel and the West. His death represents a significant blow to the coordination of Iran's armed forces amid the escalating war.
Unstoppable Escalation
The operation follows a series of cross-attacks between Israel and Iran, in what analysts already consider the highest point of tension in the region since 1979. European capitals and Washington have raised their alert levels due to the risk of an all-out regional war.
