Spider-Man: Brand New Day – Marvel and Sony prepare the return of Tom Holland
Marvel Studios and Sony are working on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the highly anticipated new Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland.

The fan-favorite wall-crawler is back. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have greenlit Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth installment in the saga starring Tom Holland. The news has excited fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), who are waiting to see what the future holds for Peter Parker after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
What will Spider-Man: Brand New Day be about?
Although plot details are being kept secret, the title seems to reference the iconic comic book story "Brand New Day" (2008), where Peter Parker faces a new reality after a drastic reboot of his personal life. In the MCU, Parker is left completely alone after Doctor Strange's spell cast, which could open the door to a rebirth both as a hero and in his civilian identity.
Tom Holland's Return and a New Approach
After months of uncertainty, Tom Holland has confirmed his return as Peter Parker, although he made it clear that the new film will explore a different tone. In previous interviews, the actor stated that he would only return if the story was worthwhile, something that seems to have convinced him, Kevin Feige, and the Marvel creative team.
Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are rumored to return at some point, although it's unclear if their characters will resemble Peter Parker after the events of No Way Home.
A new villain for Spider-Man?
There's still no official confirmation on who the main antagonist will be, but rumors point to the possible introduction of Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) as a major threat in New York. With the appearance of Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in the MCU, a connection to the criminal underworld seems inevitable.
Another name that's sounding strong is Scorpion, a character who was hinted at in the post-credits scenes of Spider-Man: Homecoming and who could be one of the major threats to the hero.
Release Date and Production
While Spider-Man: Brand New Day doesn't yet have a confirmed release date, it's expected to hit theaters between 2025 and 2026, depending on the schedules of Marvel Studios and Sony. Production could begin in the coming months, with Jon Watts or a new director at the helm.
This film will undoubtedly mark the next chapter in Spider-Man's story in the MCU, with a more mature approach and Peter Parker facing the consequences of his past.
We will continue to report on any updates.
