Flávio Bolsonaro challenges Daniel Vorcaro to testify before the Banco Master Parliamentary Inquiry Commission and issues a challenge: “I want him sitting on that commission to talk about his relationship with Lula and Moraes”

• Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) again demanded the presence of Daniel Vorcaro at the Joint Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPMI) of Banco Master. In a strong statement, the congressman affirmed that he wants the banker to testify to clarify his relationships with himself, with President Lula, and with Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court. “I have a challenge! I want Vorcaro sitting on that Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry!”, said Flávio Bolsonaro.

• The senator guaranteed that he has “no fear” of what Vorcaro might reveal and defended that the banker give a full testimony about the messages exchanged with Moraes and any contacts with the Lula government. This demand comes amidst the scandal involving Banco Master, investigated for billion-dollar financial frauds, and the messages exchanged between Vorcaro and Minister Alexandre de Moraes revealed by the Federal Police. Flávio Bolsonaro has been one of the main figures pushing for a thorough investigation of the case in Congress. “If he has so much to say, let him come to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) and tell everything. Who was he talking to? What was his relationship with the Lula government? What was his relationship with Minister Moraes? The Brazilian people have the right to know,” stated the senator.

• The Bolsonaro opposition sees the CPMI as an opportunity to clarify alleged irregularities involving the Judiciary and the Executive branches. The Lula government and its allies, however, are trying to downplay the case, classifying the investigations as “political persecution.” To date, Daniel Vorcaro remains in pre-trial detention, and his testimony before the CPMI has not yet been scheduled. Pressure from Flávio Bolsonaro and other opposition parliamentarians is expected to increase in the coming weeks to have the banker summoned.
