India and the United States urge their citizens to leave Iran amid escalating tensions

India issued an urgent alert on Tuesday recommending that all its citizens leave Iran immediately, given the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the country. The measure follows a similar warning issued by the United States the previous day.

According to the US statement, American citizens should leave Iranian territory as soon as possible, giving preference to land routes through the borders with Turkey or Armenia, due to airspace restrictions and the risks associated with internal displacement.

Escalating International Concern

The consular alerts reflect the high level of tension in the Middle East, marked by military movements, emergency meetings in Washington, and signs of a possible escalation involving Iran and Western powers.

Indian authorities stated that they are monitoring the situation closely and have advised their citizens to maintain constant contact with embassies and consulates, as well as to avoid sensitive areas and crowds.

Risk of Isolation

Experts warn that, in the event of an escalation of the conflict, air routes could be quickly closed, hindering evacuations. Therefore, the recommendation for land routes indicates concern about a possible sudden isolation of the country.
