Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated at a recent conference that Optimus, the humanoid robot developed by the company, will be the "all-in-one" of robotics: a universal assistant designed to perform everything from household chores to complex industrial functions.

“Optimus will be the ‘do-it-all robot,’ a multifunctional companion and worker that will revolutionize the way we live and work,” Musk said during his speech at Tesla AI Day 2025.

Optimus, also known as Tesla Bot, was first introduced in 2021 as a humanoid robot powered by artificial intelligence. Since then, it has evolved from concept to working prototype and is now in an advanced stage of internal testing.

What will Optimus be able to do?
According to Musk, Optimus will be able to:

Cook, clean, and care for elderly people at home.

Operate in factory and logistics environments.

Learn new tasks through observation and training.

Integrate with the Tesla and Neuralink ecosystem in the future.

Elon Musk projects that Optimus will not only have a global economic impact, but will irreversibly change the relationship between humans and technology.

Challenges and Skepticism
Despite these ambitions, robotics experts warn that much remains to be solved, especially regarding autonomy, safety, and decision-making in unstructured environments.

However, Tesla continues to bet heavily: laboratories dedicated exclusively to developing cognitive and motor skills for Optimus are already under construction.
