Federal Police extracted and analyzed messages between Vorcaro and Alexandre de Moraes; newspaper confirms data from the banker's cell phone

The Federal Police (PF) extracted and examined messages exchanged between banker Daniel Vorcaro, former owner of Banco Master, and Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) on November 17, 2025 – the date of the businessman's first preventive arrest. The information was revealed in a report by the newspaper O Globo, which claims to have had access to the examined material and confirmed the authenticity of the data.

According to columnist Malu Gaspar, the extraction was carried out using specialized forensic software capable of simultaneously displaying the WhatsApp screen with sent messages and single-view files (features that normally self-destruct after opening). Unlike previous materials sent to the INSS Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry – based on comparisons of times in notepads – the content analyzed by Globo results directly from the technical analysis of Vorcaro's seized device. The displayed material includes the phone number and the name "Alexandre de Moraes" as the recipient of the messages sent by the banker, information checked and confirmed by the report. The messages include Vorcaro's questions about possible blockages or updates in a confidential investigation related to Banco Master, hours before the Federal Police operation that culminated in his detention at Guarulhos Airport.

The newspaper highlights that the software reversed the single-view functionality, allowing for content recovery. The Supreme Federal Court (STF), through a statement from its Communications Secretariat, denied the existence of messages associated with the minister's contact in the telematic data analyzed by the Federal Police. Minister Alexandre de Moraes classified the allegations as "false inferences" and stated that he did not receive the cited messages. Vorcaro's defense and sources from the Federal Police did not officially comment on the report. The case gained new repercussion after Vorcaro's arrest in March 2026, as part of Operation Compliance Zero, which investigates billion-dollar financial frauds at Banco Master. The controversy over the messages fuels debates about a possible conflict of interest, especially considering the multi-million dollar contract signed between the bank and the law firm of the minister's wife, Viviane Barci de Moraes.

Digital forensics experts interviewed by the press point out that the organization of files on Vorcaro's cell phone may generate inconsistencies in the exact identification of recipients, but confirm that the records indicate interaction between the two. The Federal Police ruled out evidence of a crime in the conversations because it was not possible to fully recover the content of the single-view messages sent by Moraes. The episode puts pressure on the Supreme Court and the Lula government, with the opposition demanding in-depth investigations by the Attorney General's Office and the possible opening of a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry. To date, there has been no further official statement from the Court or the Federal Police regarding the new details uncovered.
