London and Brussels Reactivate Post-Brexit Dialogue at Key Summit
The United Kingdom and the European Union resumed post-Brexit dialogue at a summit in London, seeking to rebuild cooperation after years of tension and disagreement.

The United Kingdom and the European Union reactivated post-Brexit dialogue in London on Monday, within the framework of a bilateral summit aimed at redefining relations between the two sides after years of political and trade friction.
The meeting marks a turning point since the United Kingdom's formal withdrawal from the EU in 2020 and aims to restore cooperation in key areas such as security, trade, energy, science, and labor mobility.
“It is time to put the disagreements of the past behind us and look forward in a spirit of mutual collaboration,” declared British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly at the opening of the summit.
On the EU side, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen asserted that the bloc “is ready to rebuild bridges,” but made it clear that the integrity of the single market will not be negotiable.
Key agenda items:
Review of post-Brexit trade agreements and easing of customs controls.
Defense cooperation in the face of global instability.
Possible agreements on scientific research and joint educational programs such as Erasmus+.
Regulation of European workers and citizens in British territory and vice versa.
Political analysts emphasize that this summit could be the first step toward a “Brexit 2.0,” less confrontational and more pragmatic, especially in the face of new global economic challenges and the need for strong geostrategic alliances.
