Pakistan toughens its rhetoric: "We are willing to become a cemetery, but not to renounce our faith"
Amid the escalation with India, a senior Pakistani official declares that the country is willing to do anything, even collective martyrdom, but reiterates its call to the Islamic faith.

In a powerful new message to its people and the world, a senior Pakistani political leader affirmed that the country is prepared to face even total destruction, but will not renounce its faith or its Islamic principles.
“We are ready to become a graveyard, but we will not stop reciting the Kalma,” he declared to a crowd at a televised public rally. The Kalma, which professes the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad, is the first pillar of Islam and a powerful symbol of spiritual unity for Muslims.
The statement comes amid heightened military tensions with India, following cross-border attacks that have left at least 48 dead. This type of rhetoric fuels fears of a possible religious escalation in a conflict that already threatens to spill over into the region.
International analysts have warned of the danger of rhetoric that combines nationalism with religious fervor, especially between nuclear-capable powers like India and Pakistan.
"This is not just a war of territory, it's a war of identity," commented a political analyst from New Delhi.
The international community has reiterated calls for restraint while the UN Security Council debates diplomatic measures to stem open warfare.
