Feijóo's Congress in an electoral context: the People's Party (PP) is considering bringing forward the general elections along with the Andalusian elections
The People's Party (PP) is considering bringing forward the general elections to coincide with the Andalusian elections, amid a congress that strengthens Alberto Núñez Feijóo's leadership.

Amid an atmosphere of internal consolidation and with its eyes firmly on the polls, the Popular Party (PP) held a congress marked by its clear electoral focus. Alberto Núñez Feijóo's leadership emerged strengthened from the event, while rumors are growing that the party is considering calling early general elections to coincide with the regional elections in Andalusia.
According to sources close to the PP's national leadership, the party's leadership believes that combining the two elections would maximize the political impact of the anticipated strong performance in Andalusia, one of the PP's strongholds in southern Spain.
"We are evaluating all scenarios. The electoral calendar is not set in stone," said a party spokesperson after the closing of the congress.
During his speech, Feijóo harshly criticized Pedro Sánchez's government and defended the need for a "stability and moderation alternative" for Spain. He also presented new programmatic lines focused on the economy, territorial unity, and legal certainty, seeking to broaden the PP's electoral base in a context of political polarization.
Although the Moncloa has not officially commented on a possible early election, the PP's move could force a strategic reconfiguration of all parties if a unified election date were confirmed.
Political analysts point out that the coincidence of the elections could benefit the People's Party (PP), by mobilizing loyal voters in a larger and more concentrated election day, while the left is still trying to articulate a unified campaign following recent divisions.
