Tensions in Kashmir: Indian and Pakistani forces exchange fire along the Line of Control
Military forces from India and Pakistan exchanged fire again in the disputed region of Kashmir. Tensions are rising along the Line of Control.

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated again this Saturday after military forces from both countries exchanged fire along the Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border dividing the Kashmir region.
According to official reports, the clash occurred in parts of the Poonch district, where Indian units responded to "unprovoked fire" from the Pakistani side. The Indian Ministry of Defense stated that "troops acted with restraint," while Pakistan denounced "provocations" by New Delhi.
So far, an exact number of casualties has not been confirmed, although local media report several injuries among soldiers and civilians on both sides of the border.
This latest incident comes amid rising diplomatic tensions between the two nuclear neighbors, following recent exchanges of views on the political situation and human rights in the disputed region.
Kashmir has been a flashpoint for conflict since the partition of India in 1947, with multiple wars and sporadic clashes periodically rekindling fears of further escalation.
Local authorities have urged residents near the border to remain indoors and exercise extreme caution in the face of possible further clashes.
