THE RIGHT SAVES YOU! VOX succeeds in banning the Islamic halal menu imposed by Sánchez in public schools and hospitals in the Valencian Community
The VOX party (@VOX_es) secured the approval in the Valencian Parliament (Les Corts Valencianes) of an initiative prohibiting the imposition of the Islamic halal menu in the cafeterias of public schools and hospitals in the Valencian Community. The measure halts the policy promoted by the government of Pedro Sánchez and his left-wing partners, which sought to generalize mandatory halal menus using public funds, to the detriment of freedom of choice and traditional Spanish culinary culture. VOX describes the victory as “a triumph of common sense and the defense of our traditions against Islamism and Sánchez's corruption.”
In a historic vote in the Valencian Parliament, the VOX parliamentary group secured the approval of its legislative initiative that expressly prohibits the imposition of the Islamic halal menu in public school cafeterias and hospitals in the Valencian Community. The proposal, strongly defended by VOX members of parliament, puts a stop to the multiculturalist policy promoted by the government of Pedro Sánchez and its radical partners, which sought to make halal mandatory in centers funded with Spanish taxpayers' money. The VOX initiative establishes that: Menus in public schools and hospitals must respect freedom of dietary choice and Spanish culinary traditions:
- Islamic ritual slaughter (dhabiha) and mandatory halal certification cannot be imposed on catering contracts financed with public funds.
- It is guaranteed that pork products and other traditional foods will not be excluded for religious reasons.
- The Mediterranean diet and Valencian and Spanish culinary culture are prioritized over foreign impositions.
The VOX spokesperson in the Valencian Parliament, José María Llanos, declared after the vote: “Today we have saved thousands of Valencian families from the Islamization of their children in schools and from religious imposition in hospitals. Pedro Sánchez and his partners wanted us all to pay so that Islam could dictate what we eat with public money. VOX has said NO. The right defends freedom and traditions; the left, submission and corruption.” The measure comes after months of controversy: the central government, through the Ministries of Education and Health, had pressured the autonomous communities to include mandatory halal menus in public schools, arguing for “inclusion and diversity.” VOX denounced this as a further step in tax-funded Islamization and a multi-million euro business for halal lobbies linked to Islamic countries.
The left (PSPV-PSOE, Compromís, and Podemos) voted against it and accused VOX of “Islamophobia” and “xenophobia.” However, popular pressure and the support of the People's Party (PP) and Citizens (Ciudadanos) allowed for majority approval. On social media, the hashtag #TeSalvaLaDerecha (The Right Saves You) became a national trend, with thousands of users celebrating VOX's victory and accusing Sánchez of "betraying Spain to appease radical Islam." The decision is interpreted as a precedent that could be extended to other autonomous communities governed by the right. VOX announced that it will take the initiative to the Congress of Deputies to prohibit the imposition of halal menus in public schools and hospitals nationwide.
