Maduro accuses the US and María Corina Machado of orchestrating alleged electoral fraud in Ecuador
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro blamed the United States and opposition leader María Corina Machado for alleged electoral fraud in Ecuador. He also attacked Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, whom he called a "dictator."

Caracas, Venezuela – April 10, 2025
During a televised address from the Miraflores Palace, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro denounced alleged electoral fraud in Ecuador, and directly blamed the United States and Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado for orchestrating it.
"From Washington and with the complicity of a traitorous far right, this fraud was plotted in Ecuador to destabilize the region. María Corina Machado is also neck-deep in this," the president stated.
Maduro spared no criticism of Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, calling him a "puppet dictator of imperial interests" and accusing him of repressing the population and consolidating an "illegitimate government at the service of the oligarchies."
The statements come amid rising regional tensions following the recent elections in Ecuador, the results of which have been internationally recognized, albeit with isolated reports of irregularities.
So far, neither the US government nor María Corina Machado have publicly responded to the accusations.
