Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova sparked controversy this Sunday by commenting on a viral video featuring European leaders Emmanuel Macron (France), Keir Starmer (United Kingdom), and Friedrich Merz (Germany), in a scene that has been interpreted online as compromising.

In statements released through her official channels, Zakharova quipped:

“It seems that the French, the English, and the German boarded a train… and received a blow. The fate of Europe is in the hands of drugged, dependent, and temporary figures.”

The comment refers to the unverified video circulating on social media, which speculates—without official confirmation—about the possible use of illicit substances by the three leaders during an informal meeting.
